CanCham Mongolia Joins Indo-Pacific Network to Strengthen Trade and Investment

CanCham Mongolia (Canada Mongolia Chamber of Commerce) is proud to join 21 Canadian Chambers of Commerce across the Indo-Pacific in launching the Canadian Chambers of the Indo Pacific (CCIP), following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on April 16, 2026. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Prime Minister Mark Carney, underscoring the importance of this milestone for Canada’s engagement in the region.

CanCham Mongolia Chair, His Excellency Batsukh Galsan, former Ambassador of Mongolia to Canada, signed the MOU on behalf of the organization.

In closing remarks at the ceremony, CCIP leadership expressed appreciation to the Prime Minister for his participation, noting that this marks the first time many Canadian Chambers abroad have entered into a formal partnership of this kind—and their first direct engagement at this level with Canada’s Prime Minister. The presence of the Prime Minister highlights the growing importance of coordinated Canadian business representation in the Indo-Pacific.

Originally envisioned five years ago as a platform to give Canadian businesses in Asia a stronger, more consistent voice with Ottawa, CCIP represents a significant step toward deeper, more structured collaboration. The network also acknowledged the contributions of key government and business leaders whose support helped bring this initiative to fruition, and looks forward to working closely with partners across Canada and the region.

This new network strengthens collaboration among Canadian business communities across Asia, aiming to enhance trade, investment, and knowledge sharing in a rapidly evolving global environment.

Through the CCIP, members will work together on coordinated advocacy, joint initiatives such as trade missions, and stronger engagement with Canadian and regional partners.

CanCham Mongolia’s participation reinforces its commitment to advancing Canada–Mongolia economic ties and supporting its members in accessing new opportunities across the Indo-Pacific.
